It's a rough old coin but, it looks similar to the photos on line.

Sorry, all I see is a coin with wear and has taken some hits.
To be DDR, the letters would have to be enlarged.

The designer's initials FG when turned upside down and viewed through a 16× loop will show dramatic doubling. States of America will show moderate doubling and E Pluribus Unum will show serifs on every letter. This variety is tough to locate and when studied you will be able to pick it out in a cinch. The 1968 D DDR F'S-801 is a great variety to be looking for. I have found 2 one in AU the other in MS RB. I believe plenty more are out there but that its easily overlooked especially in AU. Very underrated and priced DDR IMO. Keep searching and good luck. Don't forget to check those 1964 D reverses also, plenty of reverse die varieties in both the Philly and Denver issues.
