I am from NE Texas and am a new collector. I have been trolling Coin Community for a few weeks now. I have been going through 2000+ nickels(from a gallon change jar) for about two weeks and use this forum to learn from.
Today I came across a 2006 P Monticello with several oddities on the reverse. I think two of them are die cracks, and another one a Cud. Having severe visual impairment, and even with a USB microscope, 0-300X, it is hard for me to see other possibles. Hopefully someone can help.

to the forum!

I agree with the die crack. However, Cuds have to involve the rim, which none of these anomalies do. So they are die chips or, if large enough, die breaks.

First,

You have an interior die break and a die crack.

The die break to the left of Monticello is listed on cuds-on-coins.com as IDB-5c-2006P-01R. The listed coin does not show the die crack that is on your coin. Your coin likely is a later die state of the one pictured.

Send photos of your coin to JC Stevens, and it might qualify for a Stage B or C listing of the existing coin. Here's the contact URL:

Nice find! It's a definite keeper.
