Nothing else on coin has doubling except for the 195. The 5, the way the doubling is split-a person would expect to see on a doubled die, though no doubling appears anywhere else. did they manually repunch the date? Or Is this machine double?
I have a few of these as well I'll check them over to see if any thing else is doubled, I have a 53 quarter with date doubled but other parts are doubled on the reverse
Assuming an NSF coin, the coins with doubling are just as common as without. ICCS does identify doubling by digit on holders. (19, 195, 1953). I believe Machine Doubling.
Machine doubling, otherwise known as Strike Doubling. The shelf-like step and narrowing of the devices are indicative of such.
