Please let me know what you think on grade and original skin. I have an idea, but want a few independent estimates. thank you!

I'm at VF-25. May have been cleaned long ago but looks nice to me.

Thanks. Pretty wide range of estimates here.
T-BOP, I'm confused -- how can this be original skin but "might make details"?! Are you meaning "details" as per a TPG designation...meaning they may discern a cleaning?

I just found this one, and it only costs a few dollars more. Whatya think?

Sorry, best photos I can post right now. I will say it is in an ANACS slab. I don't want to lead the witness so just give me your honest grade opinion based on these photos (if possible, I know they're not great). Thanks!

The details grade can be many things, not just cleaning. Damage, distracting scratches, and corrosion/environmental damage are among the other things.

As far as the second coin, from the provided photos, much nicer than the first. VF-35

VF-25 on original coin. Very decent example.

Thanks everyone. I bought the second coin last night, for only ten dollars more than what the first coin was going for. ANACS graded VF-35 (you nailed it ty88ty2!). Hopefully it looks VF-35 or better in hand (somewhat hard to tell from the provided photos). Best coin I could find for the price, and trying to stick close to XF. Will post better photos once I receive it.

Thanks guys!

Though it is hard to tell from these (very poor) photos, I'm crossing my fingers ANACS got it right, rather than what Michael Bugeja describes in this short article:
https://www.coinworld.com/voices/mi...ossover.html

Here's the ANACS slab, looks like the old holder style. Might even have some luster there.

Ok, sorry for the delay. Here are better photos of the ANACS VF-35 1925-D. For $50, I think this was a reasonable purchase, though I pretty much violated a cardinal rule... since I could not view the coin up close prior to purchase (see other pics posted), I more or less bought the holder (ie trusting ANACS). While this coin does seem VF-35, and appears to have some remaining luster, I find the uneven toning somewhat less than optimum for eye appeal. I'll keep it, but I'm definitely gonna keep my eye out for an XF or AU specimen.
