Nice find. First time I have seen one. That is actually a Type II planchet as it has the rims.

May we ask how and where you found it?

Nice, I assume you confirmed that with a magnet?

Quote: Took it from a store. . Monty, no offense, but it sounds like you stole it. Not the case, I'm sure. Lets just assume you "took it" from a coin shop and you got a "steal" of a deal. .

Nothing stole or cherry picking!! I saw one few years at nuphilex but it was too expensive for me at the moment. This one was in a sale and since it was the first one I saw since the one at uniphilex, I bought it. Now, slowly, I have to look for the dime, nickel, quaterer half to finsh my set.

That sounds like a cool set to collect. Glad you got it this time. You didn't mention the 1 cent to complete your set, so I assume you have it already. Now you have the bookends, and can fill in the missing ones in between. Good Luck. .

Are you collecting the nickel-based planchets or the silver ones too? The silver dollar and 50c are not cheap...

Montgomery - why dont you lead the way in starting a new tread Post your blank coins!! This topic has never been discussed before and did see a complete blank collection at the Edmonton coin show one time, it was very impressive. I'm sure there's tokens and other stuff out there.
