my local library was having a used book sale. I bought the following

2007 Black Book for Paper Money
2007 Black Book for Foreign Coins
Coin World Almanac - 1990 ed.

all for $1.50

unfortunately, I could not find walter breen's encyclopedia

Great buy!!

I found a brand new in-the-box Walter Breen's Encyclopedia for $40 at a store that was going out of business this past January

Good deals are out there if you keep your eyes open and know what to look for.

Believe it or not, many "Half Price Books" stores have older editions of the Krause standard catalogs for about $8 a pop. I just want to kick myself for paying $40 on Amazon for the 19th century book when I could have waited a couple of weeks and gotten it for $8.

thekidcollector- well I have never seen it, but I think that the 18th and 17th century books had smaller print runs, so it is less likely that there would be overstocks had by major chains. So ultimately it is unlikely that they would end up at such an Overstock store.
