briarmentrout Valued Member United States 244 Posts	Posted 12/09/2018 08:22 am Ok.... so Looking at the devices in the date--especially in "0"--there is a line, and it looks to be thicker? MD? I have the Same question for "Liberty" and Lincolns face Apologies in advance for the glare..... didn't have a red solo cup ;) Also, Thank you in advance for the continued patience and generous wealth of knowledgr! -Lincoln's head rotated 90degrees to the left? On the the reverse as well?!? I also have another question.... There appears to be the outline a shield on the obverse tilted 90 degrees to the left... coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 12/09/2018 3:39 pm That is the way the dies are normally struck at the U.S. Mint. Look at your coins. They are 180 different in directions from obverse and reverse. Other countries us medal alignment. So you have to check to see which is which. Report this Post to the Staff

Like are there varieties in the degree of rotation for die clashes on US coins? Or are the always 180? Report this Post to the Staff
