I'm not too familiar with the series of varieties for this coin. The devices seem to line up pretty much the same for all of the variety types.

From what I can see the distinguishing factor is found primarily in the shape of the over-date.

I need the best variety that comes closest to my coin as well as opinions as to whether or not this coin is genuine without having any unofficial post-mint alterations.

It looks like S-196 based on the position of the second 0 in the date.

The date looks okay to me, seems genuine.

Has type 2 hair that eliminates 190, 191, NC-5 and NC-6
9 is strong in the first 0 that eliminates NC-1 and NC-2
Highest wave of the hair is centered or near centered under the R, that eliminates 192 and 193
Junction of hair and forehead is not below the right foot of T it is further right, that eliminates 194 and 195.
That leaves 196 and the final 0 distant from the rest of the date and high further confirms it.
