Poll Question
After picking up $100 in ones from my bank today, I found a date note (12212001) and a low serial number (00009757) and realized note searching seems pretty worthwhile. I'm probably gonna start doing it more often now, I love looking for interesting serial numbers.

It made me wonder how many of you guys do this regularly, or have even considered doing it before.

Poll Choices
Yes, I regularly go through $1s from my bank
Once in a while I will
Thought about it, not worth my time
 Haven't considered before
Sounds like a good idea, I'm going to start

I am not a note collector, but I can see why this might make sense, given the successes in roll searching.

Same as with searching through coins - this is a good idea if have access to them and are willing to devote some time to it.

Obviously, I don't have such access, and that's why I didn't vote. However, if I could, I'd do it.

I looked through $250 in ones a few days ago and was disappointed. Didn't find a single interesting note. I'll probably try again, though.

This is the way to go if you are looking for fancy serial numbers or star notes. Unfortunately, newer circulated star notes do not have much of a premium and fancy serial numbers tend to have very subjective values. The odds of finding something like a silver certificate are pretty small since the notes look so different that they stick out to even noncollectors. However, in my casual searching over the years, my two best finds are an incredibly low serial number(00000296) and a shifted printing error.

Hi,
I regularly go through $1,500.00 in ones each month and I almost always find keepers! Good luck with your searching.
