Nice Fugio!
Great Idea for a thread! Can we post more that one? I've got a three way tie for first place.

That's a lovely Fugio! I've acquired some lovely coins this year, but this Paramount red holder 1884 Morgan is a favorite, even though it's not the highest graded or most valuable. NGC MS 63 (should be 64+) w/rim toning.

I am old and dumb. Time has passed me by, it seems. I'd love to post pictures but I have no idea how to take the quality pictures I see in this forum. Will any digital camera work? If so I can probably get my techno-genius son to help me turn them into a post. That said my very favorite purchase was a stunning PCGS MS-66fh 1917 type one SLQ. It was a good year, as shown by runners up: PCGS MS-63 1877-s Trade dollar PCGS MS-63 1837 SL dime PCGS MS-64 1849 SL dime PCGS MS-64 1858 SL quarter Hope to learn how to share pics. Happy hunting and good wishes to all for 2019.

Of course, that is my favourite Ike acquisition of 2018. My favourite non-Ike acquisition of 2018 is this beauty... 1914-D Lincoln Cent

Ok thanks for the exception! It took a lot of patience to find these three. One of the holy grails of Seated dollar collectors. The ultra scarce 1862 business strike. With a low mintage of only 11,540, it is estimated that only 350 survived. The TPG numbers are inflated due to many misidentified proofs residing in business strike holders. I found this original example at an auction during the summer. The 1840 is the first year the mint produced business strikes for Seated dollars. Not so scarce but a gorgeous and lustrous example I was very lucky to find with CAC approval in April. And this 1848 Seated dollar. The most scarce Seated dollar of the 1840's. It has a low mintage of only 15,000. I found this very pretty example in au-58 with CAC approval at a Legend Coin auction this summer.

Nice one, Sky - that is a tough bank for sure (half dozen or so total notes known of all kinds). My favorite would be:

Hmm... The 3.8 Kilos of 90% I got at face value from a bank sounds about right for me.

Thanks Jbuck! Nice one Frog! I think that's the first picture of one of your acquisitions that I have ever seen. Did you buy a rig from our friend in the photography section?

Sorry for the sidebar on what will be without a doubt an epic thread! I wish I had some US coins to share. I had some great buys in 2018... but all World Coins :)

I have too many to list but if I had to pick just one this would be it. It's my only proof like morgan and I can't stop staring at it... While my pictures don't show it the mirrors are amazing.
