hi, went to the bank today to get my usual box of cents and the tellers asks me do I still save halfs. I said sure and gave me 2 halfs, didnt look at them til I got home and the 1984d had this big S on the revere, I know it it didnt come that way, but was a cool find.

Most metal shops have letter stamps for marking things. It would be so easy to stamp a coin just for kicks. I never did because what's the point?

Exactly, very easy to make, and there are thousands, but personally I'm not into defacing any coin.
