Has anyone ever heard of a George V example of this coin?

Hi otto, according to numista, 1936 was the last year depicting George V on this coin https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces6415.html
Is there a particular reason for your enquiry?

George V died in January of 1936. So I too am curious why you ask.

Someone on e-bay supposedly had one. Cannot find any evidence that such a coin exists.

very improbable.

Edward VIII was King for 11 months after George V died in 1936. He abdicated in December 1936, and George VI became king. So George V was 2 monarchs (Edward VIII and George VI) in the past once the 1937 coins started being minted.

Possibly just an image mix-up? That looks like a British India 2 annas obverse - a South African threepence has the legend GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR.

South Africa George V coins were last minted in 1936. Also the coin obverse never had the word King on it, they have GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR on the obverse.

A pattern for $7.

It is definitely worth the risk.
