Does anyone know some collectors or dealers who would have original rolls of coins? I am looking for dimes, quarters, or silver dollars, any rolls from the late forties to 1967...

I am also interested in early penny rolls 1950 or earlier.

Thanks for any help you can provide

If they're original, you'd get the same date & mintmark, 50 times over.

Perhaps this is what you're looking for, an assortment.

So I'm guessing you're looking for Canadian coins?

I don't remember the exact date, but I don't think coins came in original rolls until the 1950's prior to that they were all bagged, with the exception of some silver dollars that came in tubes.

First coins released in "original rolls" were the 1982 Constitution dollar. Prior to that, everything was sent out of the mint in bags. Security companies (e.g., Brinks) and banks then rolled the coins in paper wraps, sometimes referred to as "shotgun rolls". Those are the "original rolls" that dealers and collectors speak of. They tend to be unsearched, but the really cool errors that were found in mint bags were filtered out (usually by jamming or damaging the counting/rolling machines).

Hey SPP, didn't the 1949 Canada dollars come out in experimental cardboard tubes. I thought that was why there is so many very high grades out there.

Yes, and in the case of silver dollars in the 1940s, they were packed, all lined up on edge, in wooden boxes.

The op in this thread - was speaking of rolls (as we know them today).
