The Coronet Heads have a loop on the bottom curl. This looks like the Braided Hair. There's other differences, but that's the first thing I look for.

Agree with Braided Hair. The best link to the various 1839 Coronet Cents is PCGS CoinFacts. http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/1744

Look for the picture showing the different hair details.

There are FIVE different head types in 1839, Head of 1836, Head of 38, Silly head, Booby head, and head of 1840. Yours is a head of 1840, sorry but I don't know how that relates to KM numbers.

OK, looked at my digital copy of SCWC. I is a little older and only lists KM 45 and KM 67 and only lists 1839 as KM 45. KM 67 starts the Braided hair series and your coin IS a Braided hair, so if your book list an 1839 under KM 67 that would be the coin you have.
