Can't help you on the variety. But may I ask how much you paid for each one?

The reason I ask is b/c I'm transitioning into becoming a dealer at shows. I have found a bulk supplier where I can purchase these from in similar conditions.

I'm not sure what you're asking but the first one is 1839 Petite Head of 1840. It's a Braided Hair variety not a Coronet Cent. The grade is probably Good-4.

The second one is marked correctly as well. The grade is better but marks on face knock it down.

Price seems fair.

Right. 1839 is a transitional year, so it is split between the Coronet (first) and Braided type.

These are from PCGS Coinfacts:

I hope this helps and I'm learning right along.

1839 head of 36, plain hair cords tying up the hair byn, all the rest have beaded cords.

Head of 1838 beaded cords and no browlock where the forehead meets the coronet.

Silly head has prominent browlock, lower right point of bust does not extend past curls.

Both of your coins are marked correctly.

Booby head prominent browlock, lower right point of bust extends past hair curls.

Head of 40 Completely different head style (Braided Hair type) head is tipped forward with point of coronet nearly at star 5 and point of bust over 8 in the date.
