I can not find anything on this 2 Werth Marke token stamped G.W. Would anyone be able to help find some information about this token?

Looks like it's from this series: https://www.catawiki.com/catalog/to...-werth-marke

...and the "GW" would be a counterstrike.

Edit to add: Some discussion on them here: http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/in...opic=10794.0

Not about the 2 specifically, but there's a fair amount of information about the series in the discussion thread I linked to, including the line "They come in a variety of denominations from 1 to 500" -- that's in an image taken from a book (German Tokens, Part II, Colonial issues Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and other areas by Jerry Schimmel, 1988).

I don't know what more you want, except maybe to know what "GW" comes from, and that same image suggests it would indicate the name of a business.

@silverore, could you please also post a pic of the other side of this token?

Sure thing. It just has a number 2 on the reverse.

Ok yes thanks for the follow-up pic. It is good to be able to have everything all in one place for some future time when we are searching for this token again.

The only thing that I would add is that these pieces are sometimes known as "consumption tokens", perhaps due to their use as money in hospitals and spas dedicated to the treatment of tuberculosis?
