Does anyone know of a safe way to clean a penny? Some way that won't devalue the coin?

Do a search on this forum under cleaning coin. You will find a wealth of information.

Post a pic and we will tell you whether or not it can be salvaged via 'cleaning'. Or, tell us the date and mintmark and we will tell you if it's worth your time and effort to even attempt it.

It depends on many factors. If you have a specific coin in mind, posting pics of it will help the most.
