i have 19 ounces of silver in the alchemy bag... ounces that were acquired via street money (2019-2024). I just did some quick calculating. $79.25 (spot silver) x 19 = $1,505.75. I spent less than half of that figure on those ounces. joy. thank you, streets of key west and thank you, silver rally.

well, it was all found over 6 years, '19-'24... typically not much each night, but adds up over time. I believe that I made the most of it. good timing, too, in the years prior to a metals rally.

after two consecutive nights of $1+, $1.85 & $1.78, resp., I figured tonight wouldn't be the third consecutive $1+ night. I'm happy to report that I was wrong. I had just thirty-four cents in my pocket as I rolled up to a pair of air-vacs, the last stop on my way home, when I spotted a red cup on the machine. my thought upon seeing it was, 'great! someone left me a cup of change'.

sure enough...

i didn't dump it & count it. I picked the cup with all the coins in it, put it in my bike basket and headed for home. after about 50 feet I picked the cup from the basket and carried it in my hand. the coins rattling around after every little bump became annoying almost instantly. once I returned to my place I dumped & searched & counted it:

wow! $9.95, added to my thirty-four cents = $10.29. joy. it was mostly quarters, but there was also a 1968 canadian cent in it.

yes, and it just occurred to me: this was the same air-vac that I picked that small container of coins from on november 23rd. looks like there is a serial coin container abandoner running loose. good thing I'm out there every night.

according to the FBI, there must be 3 acts to be committed to be considered a 'Serial Offender' - so can you remember a third time this happened?

no... i'll have to scroll through my pictures later. nothing comes to mind. i'll be watching out for more, though.

big wind out of the north tonight. low will be around 60, currently 65. the magic money corner will be full of debris, which i'll be checking for stray FRNs in about an hour or so.

no FRNs in the wind tunnel tonight, but an above-average picking of a well-scattered $2.75, plus a 20oz. bottle of Aquafina! nice of someone to have left that for me. I'm having a decent end of the month & end of the year. I'm pretty sure I've picked around $25 the last two weeks.
