Recently I scored a $20 in a parking lot!
From experience, it seems that these frequently travel in pairs - and that was the case here!

It must've been around 1965, I found a pair, but they were only $1 Bills.
The inflation calculator says a 1965 dollar is equivalent to about $10 today.
My mom had a part-time job at the snack bar of a bowling alley and after school, I walked there to see her.
It was about a mile from the school to the bowling alley, and though I was in my later elementary school years, it was in the days before helicoptering parenthood, LOL.
Anyway, on the way, I found a Dollar Bill in the ditch. Excited, I continued on and showed it to my mother.
A middle-aged female customer at the bar told me to go find another one. So, I went back to look!
You guessed it, another one near where the first was found. And I learned a lesson.
You're right, find one, you need to look some more. :-^)

that was probably an awesome find in 1965. $2 then would have gotten you a nice handful of baseball cards & bubblegum back then.

tonight I picked $3.02. some of it was well-scattered, but the bulk of it was picked in two places. a soda machine early on provided a pair of quarters. later, my favorite ice machine gave up eight more quarters:
Fantastic!

i had a very short night tonight since it's cold & windy, but I still picked $1.32-- from just 2 spots. one spot yielded eighty-two cents and the other spot- my favorite ice machine- yielded a pair of quarters.

The truth is, I spent that $2 on a cheap (even for 1965) camera at Five & Dime. And over the next few years I took lots of pictures. Some are fairly decent, all things considered.

yes. not too shabby for the short amount of time I spent out there tonight. I left my place at 11:15pm, was home at exactly midnight. honestly, 45-60 minutes is really about all the time I want to put into it, feeding cats along the way, of course.

An outstanding return on that investment!
