1983 P Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Not Sure If This Is A Doubled Die Obverse / DDO , Cannot Find A Match.

Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 12/27/2018 1:53 pm I found this 1983 P LMC and almost appears to be a DDO but these minor varieties are pretty hard to separate from normal. There looks like a split serif on the R in TRUST and the bottoms of the 9 and 3 appears a little thicker than on a normal cent, the bottom right side of the 8 as well but that may be because it took a hit? the only marker I could find was a die crack on the top left side of the memorial on the reverse that runs from the memorial through the second N in UNITED. I am thinking the only way to work out all these minor 1983 DDO coins is to just start sending them in to let the attributors figure out what's what and separate out the die stages. They can't do it unless they get the coins to look at so probably send some more along depending on what I hear back on the first one. Report this Post to the Staff
