What is it that determines if a posted pic has the red dashed lines around it so that the person viewing the coin can expand it ?

The pictures are automatically resized if they are too large. They are expandable once over a certain size but can't remember what the specs are.

Anything over 499px wide is resized using javascript, turned into a click to enlarge, and has the red dashed line around it to let you know you can blow it up. Forum software does it automagically. This is so huge photos don't force you to scroll side to side.
