Those are amazing -- congratulations! I didn't know NGC did world coins.

Per my coin dealer's advise, they are considered better at grading world coins compared with other grading services.

I just think of the journey of this coin and others making it safely through the centuries.

Wow! JUST wow! Those coins made me jealous! I was/am targetting the Leopold Hogmouth coins, they are very difficult to get by in Kuwait. I have only seen 1 in a shop. Dealer was charging 100 US Dollars, or around 30 Dinars. I figured I'll wait till I get my own Paypal account, since paypal now allows Kuwait in their country list and buy of ebay or Vcoins. Anyways, FABULOUS coins!

Archraz - are you looking to trade any of your coins?

Zohar444- eh, not really. Honestly I have a hard time parting with a coin after it enters my collection. But just out of curiosity, did you get these Talers at auction or from dealers?

I buy them raw where I feel the grading is fair (with some upside). I buy online, auctions etc.

Beautiful coins. Thank you for sharing. What has been your experience with NGC as far as agreeing with the grade and authenticity for your world coins? I have several Spanish Colonial coins I have thought about submitting just for authenticating but can't decide between ANACS and NGC

I used ANACS in the past. I feel comfortable with NGC's grading and service quality. I was told that NGC's grading is slowly being accepted by Europeans (who object to grading). CHeers.

As a European I can confirm that some of us are indeed sceptical to slabbed coins. I myself have a collection of more than 3000 different types and I have yet to buy my first coin enrapped in plastic by ANACS, NGC or anyone else. It is quite common here to ignore such specimens, not necessarily because we disagree with the grading (although we frequently find it doesn't correspond to our views) but because we find the thing to be rather cumbersome - it does not lend itself to easy storage. I hope this trend doesn't reach Europe anytime soon.
That said, I would like to congratulate you on acquiring some really beautiful Thalers! Magnificent coins indeed.
