1956 D Lincoln with a lot of die spill I suppose but the mintmark is over some other mint I think, please help.

Hello! In my opinion, it doesn't look to be an RPM. I think what your seeing is PMD, which is the flattening of the bottom serif of the MM. There could be split serifs at the top of the MM, but with your lighting it's tough to tell. I'm no expert, and this is just my opinion. Happy hunting!

Well the mint mark is a normal one. If it were a variety, it would be called a RPM. (Re-Punched-Mint mark) Looks more like a contact mark. The overall shape of the mint mark is there. A RPM would show a spread on split serifs on the corners of the 'S' or 'D'.
