It may just be me but it looks like the last 0 in the date is akward looking. also, a couple of the letters in the motto look like they were chiseld by cave men. just want other opinions before it goes into the searched pile.

Thats what I was wondering john1. I have seen a few 2000's that are missing that 0 in the date. I'm wondering if this was a partial grease strike.

It was Struck Through Grease, bit not severe enough to be a keeper. It's worth face value.

Kinda looks like a struck through a thin layer of grease, as opposed to a Struck Through Grease.

But if that device would been a doubled die, (which it is not), the shape you are looking for is the altered shape like that but larger.
