Below is a picture of some coins I have in various packaging - some Morgans, Peace dollars, a Franklin half, to name a few. My personal opinion is that this is quite a gimmick, and I prefer to not have them in this packaging, but if this somehow adds value to any sort of resale I'll leave as is. Thoughts are appreciated.

I don't think the packaging adds anything to those coins

I am of the opinion that
unless the packaging comes from the Mint and is intended for mint and proof sets, the packaging won't add extra value.

Non Mint packaging however, may certainly help with coin protection and add to saleability, especially with sets of coins.

Such packaging definitely improves the saleability at places like a flea market or to a casual impulse buyer. However, if you plan to keep them it is just unnecessary bulk.

They may not add to resale value, but they do not hurt it either.

If you are selling I would leave intact. Some of this stuff can be interesting for nostalgic reasons, especially if it is from older programs. Someone may pay a premium and if not let them free the coins after purchase.

Then by all means remove them.
Myself, I would leave them in, not for any added value but because they add an interesting dimension to otherwise quite pedestrian coins.
