Don't look on the edges of devices. Look at the tops of the devices to see if it the devices are enlarged. Machine Doubling can be seen on the edges, and that is not a doubled die. Here is what to see on the 1982 copper cents for a doubled die: Note the side by side showing the size of the normal device, then note the DDO: Note how the devices are wider or taller than the normal devices. Also note the enclosed devices. How they are reduced on doubled dies.
