Hi,

I am new to this forum, after having recently acquired 100+ Chinese coins at an estate sale. With much effort, I have been able to definitively identify all but four of the coins. I am hoping you may be able to provide some assistance with the ones that I just can't seem to figure out.

I will post them individually, which I believe would be the preferred approach. (Please correct me if I'm wrong about that.)

This first coin is a 10 cash copper coin, I believe. The closest thing I can find to it is Y# 77.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can offer. Know that it is much appreciated.

Cheers, and happy new year.

Tim

You are likely very right. Is the edge reeded or plain?
With brief Q&A we can pin down which Y#77 it is.
Unless you already know.

Thanks, Albert. The edge is plain.

I do not know which 77 it is. Nor do I have a good sense of the value the coin might have. (There's a gentleman on ebay selling a coin like this for $150. I think that is probably way overpriced, but I do not know.)

Thanks for your help.

I think it is Y#77.1 and a catalog value of about $5.00 more or less.
I've seen high asking prices on ebay but they may be out of line.
I did see prices around $35 and $40, but not $150.
The SCWC puts a value of your coin at just a fraction of ebay asking prices, and in this case, I don't disagree.
But the SCWC is often not good for reflecting the real market.

You are welcome and I am glad to help.
Do you want to post photos of another coin?
I visit this page frequently during the day and night.
According to your first post you may have three other coins to identify.
