Does anyone have an internet site or listing of the above mentioned coins?
I have seen references to these being made in 1965 and maybe earlier but the internet sites I have searched only indicate Trade dollars starting 1970- 1985.
I found some in a coin shop the other day that were souvenir coins and dated 1967 and 1968. They did not have and trade value.

I believe the Wildwoods started in 1965.

They were especially big in the 1980's and continued until at least 2000. I am not sure about production after that.

The Wildwoods are especially attractive in design.

The face value on most of them was $1.00 or $2.00, however there were some $3.00 and $4.00 TD's.

Today most of them retail from $3.00 - $5.00, however the rarer ones can be $25.00, $50.00, $75.00 and more.

If you happen to be in Alberta or Saskatchewan, I usually bring some of my binders to the coin shows that I will attend (I sometimes sell them there).

There will be a number of coin shows in March and April.

Unfortunately coinsandcanada.com has very limited info on them. There are 2 books (that I am aware of) about Trade dollars, however they are very hard to find these days.

According to Serge Pelletier's "Standard catalogue of Municipal Trade tokens & notes", the Wildwood tokens started in 1970 and continued at least to 1993, the date of the publication of this book. There are dozens of issues.

The first version actually started as a Klondike Trade note (75 x 158 mm) in 1965. There were numerous variations of these trade notes. They produced the Trade Notes until 1973.

In 1970 they start to produce the Trade Tokens (or Dollars). They did these until 1974.

They stopped for a few years.

They then resumed producing the Trade dollars in 1981 and continued every year until 1997.

There was then another short gap and then they produced another TD in 2000.

I don't think,( but am not 100% certain) that they have resumed producing TD's at any point since then. Someone else may be able to answer this.

Thanks everyone for your input into this subject. I have learned a lot from you all.
Since initially posting I have been doing my own investigation of the number of coins issued by this small but very active community.
I see that the coins were initiated by the Elks association.
I borrowed a couple of books from the library and was able to find more references to specific coins. Serge Pelletier's book was useful as was mentioned previously in this post by "Oriole".
I am waiting to get the second book by Donald Stewart "Alberta Trade Tokens" to see what he has to offer in his book.
I did manage to find some of the coins referenced in a web site "Numista".
Also a web site "Zwiggy's" has a number of the coins and paper monies mentioned by "Kalaharirun" for sale. The paper money listed is from 1966-1972 and coins from 1971-1997. I personally am not as interested in the paper money as I am in the coinage although the paper money was issued for a lot more value than the coinage.

Also noted that for a number of years these coins were struck, for a particular year, from different material, being nickel, bronze and brass.
The more I get into this the more interesting I find it.

In answer to your question "Kalaharirun" I do live in the Edmonton area and attend the Edmonton Coin show when it comes to town. Are you going to be at the next show in March 2019? If so I will look you up. Sounds like you have a lot of background knowledge on this subject. Should not be hard to find you as not many people at the show are selling Trade dollars.

Thanks again everyone for your comments. Keeps me excited about this hobby.
