The brick red color on the fields, which is most noticeable on the rev, is just a result of environmental or chemical exposure. no premium and the coin can be spent. However, @bigred--what a perfect coin for you to use as your avatar...just sayin'

Just a result of the environment it has been stored in for a decent period of time. Possibly a very moist place.

As stated by Spence, this brick red color is just one of the way copper tones. I've seen it many times while searching. I generally don't even save them but I admit to having a few that really looked interesting.
