Jon Brand Pillar of the Community United States 1023 Posts	Posted 01/15/2019 9:55 pm Well regardless of what I said previously about not expecting this one to cac due to the color, I am happy to report that today it did. It was previously graded AU55 by NGC and did not cac. Now at AU53 PCGS it finally received a sticker. Needless to say that was not expected and I am pretty pleased! So maybe toned gold does have a chance afterall as long as the grade is fair. Report this Post to the Staff
jimbucks Pillar of the Community United States 4692 Posts	Posted 01/15/2019 10:40 pm I read that southern gold tends to have a higher gold content and often was not even alloyed with copper due to this but used "as is". This implies there may be other impurities and may account for the tone. Report this Post to the Staff
