spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 01/08/2019 02:07 am It's not a proof. S-Mint SBAs were minted in proof and business strikes in 1979-81. It looks fairly normal to me. That mintmark is what would be referred to as Type 1 on a proof version, or "Filled S." Maybe the two topics on this should be combined?
