I feel that is what is affecting your coin. On Lincoln cents, the date area is affected on the right side, Liberty towards the left towards the rim. The motto on the tops of the devices. So I think you have a coin with a plating disturbance. http://www.error-ref.com/?s=plating...;disturbance . Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
