I cherrypicked this 1967 DDO Kennedy a bit ago and was planning on reselling it, problem being the tarnish is hideous. Is there a way to mitigate it with a dip or other method?

Thanks,

GC

You can try E-z-Est dip,but it will damage it's collector value and then only be worth melt.

Lets put it this way ,right now it will be a very hard sell if you leave it . So not much to loose if you dip it .This one would take at least 4-5 seconds .

I agree that the patina is very grotty.
Giving it a dip won't detract from the value much, not worth much to begin with, but it may make it easier to sell, perhaps at very slightly less price.

Can we see it?

Also, that tarnish looks like it's baked into the coin. I wouldn't dip it yet. Give it a good acetone bath first and "LIGHTLY" use an acetone "soaked" Qtip on the surface. See if improves a little first.

Oh okay, never mind. I thought you had the coin in-hand. So the seller had it listed as a DDO FS-102?
