To me old eyez, these look cleaned? If so, destroyed anything but melt value, IMHO, the experts will be along eventually.

I'd go for half of AU50 valuation due to the cleaning. $60 for the quarter and $150 for the half.
Not that you'd realize those prices, but it'd be good for insurance or donation purposes.

Ok, how do you do quotes? I'm missing something. I've dipped a couple melt value coins, just because (to see myself) and they come out looking like this.

my grandfather had previously dealt with this, he told me that they were original and that they were very good quality

They more than likely are original, real coins. They are of good quality strikes in my opinion, but, here's the rub. Collectors don't like cleaned coins. Most, including myself, prefer a coin to be in original condition. There is no luster in your pics which usually scream dipped. Acid removes the luster while removing dirt/grime, etc. The coin looks like someone has rubbed it also with a cloth which will leave the streaks (?) we are seeing? You will sometimes see those also but transferred from the die, called polishing marks. This is only my observation, I'm a serious rookie so, take my remarks as that. I have a few cleaned coins myself, only use them as place holders for when I find a nice replacement.
Don't take this as anything off, but do you have an exact measurement of the coin (across) and weight in grams?

Now I understand you better. I really do not know if they are cleaned, what is their value for you?

Quote: If so, destroyed anything but melt value, IMHO Sorry, but value is not really an opinion. You wouldn't pay anything over melt for them, but cleaned coins are regularly sold -just at a discount. The collector in you doesn't value them, but the ability to sell them should give it "value" nonetheless. I am not just trying to pick a fight. A new member has come along looking for a valuation. It would be misleading to let them think that they should part with these coins for less than $10.

Well big, he's asking for a value, what do you say? No fight picked, after all, *I* am also a newbie, a rookie and I am mostly parroting what I see on here. If I'm wrong, I will admit to it. To the op, it's worth whatever you can get for it. I have several like that, that I inherited. Even though they are worth melt value (per 3 different coin shops and folks on here), I would not sell them at any price, worth more to me than another collector. If you inherited them, then consider them priceless. 1892 plain half dollar, unmolested or cleaned, in my coin book is worth between (AU-50 to MS63) $350 to $925, depends on what grade it is. I guess AU 58 so around $500? I would not judge it any higher as there is absolutely no luster per the pics. IMHO 1892 plain quarter dollar, unmolested or cleaned, in my coin book is worth between (AU-50 to MS63) $130 to $375, again depends on what grade it is. I guess AU 58 so around $200. I would not judge it any higher as there is absolutely no luster per the pics. again, IMHO I just notice you are from Serbia (Srbija), so for your information, IMHO means In My Humble Opinion. The book I am referring to is here: https://www.amazon.com/2019-Officia...ins+red+book Just an example of the book, you can probably find it in any coin shop there.
