As of today I got an interest in old coins and I discovered in my jar a 1982 D penny with a small date on it. I haven't checked if it's zinc or copper yet, but if it is copper is it still worth anything?

Here is a picture of the two different pennies.

If more pictures are needed let me know.

Also is there a way to clean this penny up safely.

I'm not sure if there's a proper way to reply to a direct person or not but I won't be able to weigh it until tomorrow. If it's copper what does that mean

to CCF. The 1982-D small date copper is "the one" to look for. We will need a weight.

First picture is a small date second is a large date. The small date coin looks like it is zinc, but if it is copper then yes it would be valuable. No, I would NOT try cleaning it.
