I normally crack the roll open using my forehead right there, dump the coins all over the counter and demand a new one.

.........

Now I'd like to see you do that with a $500.00 box of Kennedy half dollars !.....You might look like a Chuck Liddell opponet afterwards !...

Yeah, I'm not going to ever reroll my coins. A local credit union I'm a member of has a coin counting machine that ships its booty far, far away, so I don't need to worry about looking at the same coins twice.

It seems my banks have such a small turnover in coins, if I DIDN'T mark rolls I would see them over and over again. Most of the tellers where I go know what I am doing and many go out of their way to help make sure I get new stuff and good stuff if they find it. An occasional batch of cookies helps grease the wheels of commerce. I also take my cooler "finds" in and show them the results of my searches. Most expect a weekly report of "good stuff" I have found. This makes them feel they are a part of the adventure and it has helped the process immensely for me.

First I open about four rolls of Lincoln cents then stack them in piles, as I search them I will put all the copper ones in a pile and all the rejects in a small container. The "keepers" get put into envelopes that I make from the white wrappers that the coins came rolled in and I label them accordingly. When I am finished searching I will count the coins that were in the small container and wrap them and put an "X" on it, then turn them into a bank or credit union that I don't buy rolls from.
