Any help with identification is appreciated. Not sure if it is real or fantasy.

Looks like an off-metal fake to me, but I'll recommend to the mods that your thread be moved to the ancients section of CCF for confirmation.

Looks fake yes. Based on an actual Ptomely coin. An expert can tell you which one.

It is a modern cast in bronze of a Ptolemy tetradrachm - the Ptolemys were Greek rulers of ancient Egypt after the conquest by Alexander and the last of the Pharoahs before Egypt was absorbed into the Roman empire (Caesarion, the son of Caesar and Cleopatra, was the last of the dynasty). Around the eagle, who is stood on a thunderbolt, it reads ' ΠTOΛEMAIOY BAΣIΛEΩΣ' - King Ptolemy. Which Ptolemy? I have no idea, and there were a lot of Ptolemys. I don't believe there is enough detail in the cast to tell, but someone better versed can confirm/deny that.

Heres a really nice example of the real deal:

And a bad one at that.
Now if only all the counterfeiters were as bad as this one...
