It's obvious this coin has had a rough life, but the reverse is barely visible... Is this just PSD? The obverse is heavily worn as well but not nearly as bad as the reverse... Thanks in advance

Looks like normal wear with environmental (corrosion) damage.

From what I've noticed with a lot of v-nickels is that the reverse tends to go first with wear.

Thanks guys! I wonder why the reverse tends to go before the obverse?

CuNi is probably the most durable material used in any US circulating coin. So, it would take quite a bit of mistreatment and circulation to get your coin looking like that. I suspect it was buried in the ground for a bit, maybe decades ago, and heavily circulated as well.

A designated grade of PO-1 is the lowest grade given to a coin as long as the date is discernable ( poor-1 ) . A cull is a badly worn and damaged coin ,not in a collectible state . Usually bent gouged or corroded . ( no Numismatic value ).

If I had a coin like this, I'd keep it as a curiosity. It doesn't have any real value, but you may never see another like it.
