Anyone have any ideas or theories as to what happened to this coin?

Looks like it got stuck between something? I originally thought the spikes were scratch marks, but since the devices are drug and severely damaged, I'm thinking smashed... What do you guys think?

Someone had to much time on their hands. Your coin was intentionally damaged by someone or something, PMD.
