Hello, the first Cesar heads coin is much thinner than the unclear coin, I can tell it is bronze. but for the second one it looks reddish sometimes. found em in the same middle eastern city, but in different locations. #1 #2 *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

I'm no expert, but based on the heads on the first coin I would say (?): CAIUS CAESAR, adopted son and intended heir of Augustus, son of Agrippa and Julia "CHOICE RARE PORTRAIT BRONZE OF GAIUS (CAIUS) CAESAR. MACEDON, Thessalonic. Augustus, with Caius Caesar. 27 BC-AD 14. AE 20mm (8.07 g). Struck circa AD 1-4. (TH)ESSALONIKEWN; Laureate head of Augustus right / GAIOS SEBASTOU YIOS; Bare head of Caius Caesar right. RPC 1564; Touratsoglou Em. X, - (V47/R132). EF and one of the finest known examples. Gaius or Caius Caesar was the son of Agrippa, and grandson of Augustus. Choice portrait of a rarely seen Roman caesar." Anyone? Second one: No idea.

I agree with Bob, a coin from Bosra. The town was the capital of Ancient Arabia and suffered little damage in the recent civil war; it has one of the largest theatres of the old Roman Empire. The theatre suffered one direct hit by a rebel shell that struck the steps. For cleaning, the best option is to put it in olive oil and give it a brush with an old toothbrush ever week or so until it's clean.

Thank you so much Bob. that was the best answer. Thank you Ben for the advice i'll try it. This thing is maybe relative to #2 coin, is it an earring or something or a coin ?! same drawings seems to me

Quote: This thing is maybe relative to #2 coin, is it an earring or something or a coin ?! I suspect it's a coin. It may be too far gone to i.d. - I think the reverse (?) is hopeless. But the obverse (?) reminds me of a bird - perhaps a dove - in flight. Maybe an AE from Sikyon/Sicyon like those below? (Although with no interior monogram near the tail feathers) I don't know if the find spot makes that particular possibility unlikely.
