Hi All I have lots of suspicion on this coin. I noticed it on VCoins a while ago but did not purchase as I feel the style if off and looks wrong metal texture. I appreciate honest opinions on this.

At first glance , it looks fine to me, the flow lines (on the reverse) are a good sign. However, I am not an expert (yet) so that my humble opinion.

Thanks Travelcoin for opinion. It could well be a strike fake not all fakes are casts. What is tell tale here is wrong style of bust and latin characters

I thought that too on one of my first buys. I knew absolutely nothing about ancients, but I've had it checked out and it turned out Ok (for now).

Dr. Brad Bowlin is a 20 year online coin dealer and his help is thanked often across the spectrum who recognize him as an expert in certain types of ancient coins. Perhaps you need to just contact him directly at VCOINS if you feel he has an issue that needs to be addressed with one of his listings. https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/eu...Default.aspx

I did contacted him actually before about this coin but he was very upset and stopped communication and just said I know nothing to condemn this coin but to be honest I have my strong doubts on this coin.

The coin looks fine to me. No expert but I have handled and seen a heck of a lot of coins. As mentioned before, the flow lines are a really good sign.

Style and fabric seem fine to me, too.

Hvedo aka alRashid I thought you were going to give ancients a rest for a bit? You're persistence in questioning established sellers in the hobby isn't doing you any favors. I understand your feelings, but I also understand how somebody who has been handling ancients day-in-day-out for decades might get annoyed with someone relatively new to the hobby questioning their judgement. Your seeing twigs as snakes in the forest, so you've got to get out of the forest, man. For your own sanity and to avoid getting burned out on the hobby.
The ancient community is too small to lose members as well as to p-off established authorities.
Start a new collection? Canada has a great sports memorabilia market, particularly in hockey.

Hi Jskirwin
I agree I am putting the hobby on hold now but this specific coin was so tempting to get but then on second thought I felt the style is wrong and the diadem has disjoining which I heard is characteristic for bulgarian fakes. I did not know however that the seller is such an important authority in ancient coins.

Coin looks good to me too!
I'll repeat what I stated in another post...IMO your- 'everything is fake'- paranoia is wearing thin!
You've said in your last 3 posts, and probably more, that the only establishment you trust is CNG. If your going to continue buying ancients why don't you just purchase your coins from them and give yourself a break!?
