A beautiful coin, but I suspect bronze disease. I had suspicions, but a high grade Magnentius for under 20 bucks was just too tempting. So what's the scoop? BD? I really want to get the verdigris off, but I have never been able to that without stripping the coin. This one has to be saved, I think it's a terrific example.

It's a nice example and I dont think it has had BD. The green seems to be standing proud and is a little too dark. The areas where the copper is darker seem to show the original extent of the green, so it seems the surface is okay underneath - I'd definitely see about removing what is left. Maybe verdicare?

I agree a little too dark, but it's the edge that is a bit worrisome. I can't get a good pic of it, but it's bright green and that is not good. VerdiCare is no longer readily available. I saw a trial size on ebay, but I'm not paying $17 for it.

I hadn't heard this--have you tried PMing @badthad directly?

I will try and PM him. However, found something interesting on Vcoins. Some of these are listed as "Coin, Magnentius, Maiorina, Lyons, AU(55-58), Copper, Cohen:69" which means if they are made of copper, they couldn't have bronze disease - right?

This would explain the green. Have a look at this one for sale.

Bronze disease is the copper in the bronze being eaten away (the green powder is copper chloride), so any object with an appreciable amount of copper can suffer from BD. This includes everything from pure copper to billon.
