Hello everyone, I'm curious what this is. Its almost the same size as a penny, mixed in the quarter. However it only shows on front. Looking at the rim of the quarter, it appears to have more copper then normal. Please help faimly. . Sorry for poor picture
Probably a cup holder stain from a soda. It probably was a copper cent transferred some atoms during the process. Leaving a stain on the coin. If it washes off then it didn't stain it.
Okay. If it is the normal size and 5.6g (basically normal), then my vote is as above: post-Mint damage. It may have environmental damage/staining/toning that was influenced by another, smaller coin.
