I found this cent about an hour ago and decided to post about it. At the very first glance I assumed that it may have been circulation damage but there is no metal that I could see showing flow in that direction. There is definitely a small bar under the L. Thoughts as there are no listings for such a thing this particular year.

It might be a DDO. I can't think of any other thing that would cause it.

I was looking through 1957 LWC, I found one like it and felt the same, could see no physical movement of the L and I but thought it must be PSD. I put it back in my stash. Now I need to dig it back out.

Jim, that's an interesting coin indeed. But really would be better if the images were a bit larger.

Probably no way to really tell on this from the images, or maybe even without bomber images, but my opinion is a very solid maybe. Ha! It has all the reasonable appearance of a DDO, but the size and shape would be unusual in that location under the L. Most of the ones that look like that are further to the left, while the little football-shaped ones are out to the right, and the full bars aren't really in play here. If it's a DDO it's an odd one. Would be much more convincing if you could find some bit of a trace of doubling above the 7 in the date or a bit heading off from the left of the last T in TRUST. Or even a bit to the left of IN. Those are the common places where additional doubling is seen on "bar below L" coins. For now, I will say not DDO without something a little stronger to go on, based mostly on the position as otherwise it looks like a DDO.
