The best way to compare is with cents not other denominations:


If your coin is wider than a normal cent, it would have to be damaged as the examples above. The mint has a collar that allows the coins to be a certain size. If the collar is not in place, then it could make them enlarged.


But note on these images there is no rim present. If the rim is present and wider it could be something else. But you images need to larger to determine what you have. (I'm just guessing at this point as the image of the cent is too small to see what your seeing.
