The VDB is raised on the die, incuse on the coin. So when die polishing happens, it can remove those initials, When this happens all coins after that will show the missing VDB. No premium for these.
If you had a hundred on them, they would be worth a dollar. Another one of those coins a seasoned collector would never buy. I'd never sell one. They made Millions of these between 1909-1917. In 1918 they first put the designer initials back on the that area. Rubes would probably buy them. But I like to sleep at night.
I'm not a big buyer I'm a face value bank roll hunter and it's one on my master list I got off here years ago but I'll scratch it off like the 1980 D over S which is a die chip but was on that list.thanks for the info.
Do you buy OBW rolls of coins to search? If so then before you open them check out the sites to see what/where varieties are before you open the roll. That way you know what to look for. You look like a cent searcher, then check coppercoins http://www.coppercoins.com/
