I know the 68S Dimes had master die doubling, but this one also exhibits similar spreads as the DDO-002 (FS-101). I believe the 1967 SMS quarter DDO-002 also came with MDD, so they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. I'm looking for opinions whether this one is all MDD, because if it's also DDO-002, it would be fairly rare. Thanks for looking.

I'm thinking what you're seeing is MD. I'm not seeing the DDO-002.

Looks like the Strike Doubling was in two different directions when the coin was struck twice because they are proofs. On the motto you can see MD pushing upwards and downwards on the devices. The machine caused the doubling on your coin. On a doubled die, the doubling is one the die. Thus they look consistant from strike to strike. So the machine altered your coin after each strike.

Thank you all for the input. Coop's explanation visualizes perfectly.
