Those are die chips on the left wheat stalk. They are common on Lincoln cents from the 1950s, mostly because all three mints worked dies until they died (pun intended). They can be fun to collect, because they are common enough to assemble a decent assortment. They won't make you rich, though.
I sell 10-12 different minor die chips in a small ziplock bag for $4 in local shows. These usually include a BIE, a plugged B, a skirted R, plugged 9, plugged 5, a few chips on the wheat stalks and 2 or 3 die cracks on the head, shoulder, or connecting a design element to the rim. Small assortments like that are novelty items or stocking stuffers, but sometimes get young collectors started in looking for varieties and errors, and that's why I even mess with them.
