I'm looking mainly for metal content. I think its sterling but it might be 90 percent or it might be something else all together. I guess I don't know. No markings and nothing in the paperwork about content.

It has the appearance of silver but not sure. Is there anything on the edge of the coin?

Yup, it's sterling.
Issued by the US Mint (see on reverse mint logo).
Searched the net = google (jefferson bicentenial medal) multiple hits.
