A regular customer developed this product at a company he works for. I am in no way affiliated with them , and I only know him from the coin shop. When I saw the bottle of this stuff on the desk I of course aked about it , and of course was skeptical. I have for you here a couple pictures that will really tell the tale.

Maybe some of you have heard of it, it has been for sale on ebay for a bit now, I will not post the address, but if you search for "Slab Renew" you will find it. I took an old green PCGS holder I bought with an MS-65 1964-D Roosevelt in it and used a tool you might know. I scratched it with a grill cleaning tool, the ones with a brillo-like pad on one side , and a wire brush on the other. I used both sides of the brush ,and this is what it looked like when I was done. Note...I scratched the slab alot - I did not go nuts and gouge it deeply . The first pic is the scratched slab under the scope :

And now the kicker, I could not believe it did as thorough of a job as it did, I think you will agree the "The scratch is on the slab, not the coin" could be a thing of the past...I only wish I was getting something for this !

I tried this on a PCGS holder and it made a mess. I am not sure it works the same on each slab.

A little trial and error , just a little on an old t-shirt did the trick, a drop or two at a time in a circular motion.Keep it moist while you rub , add more when it dries up. I did not think it was working at first either, but you do have to work at it a little. I was told they tested it on all TPG slabs to make sure it worked and was safe. I will get ahold of some more slabs and try a few more from ANACS and NGC and whatever other slabs I can get my hands on. You also have to wipe it clean with a dry cloth when you are done. I used a t-shirt for this, I was impressed- it does work in my experience.

There's also a product for auto headlight covers that works well....I forget the name of it. I believe you can buy it at Autozone or Pepboys.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind as well- "i bet that stuff costs a heck of a lot more than headlight polish!"... Hey, sure enough, it does! I've used the "Mothers" brand on several types of clear plastics, and it works quite well... As they always say "test first on a small, inconspicuous area"...

No, it is just that some headlight assemblies get "foggy" over time. This reduces light output and becomes a safety hazard. Not to mention, its rather unattractive.

Yea , I have heard of other products that may have the same results. I have never had a reason to use any of them , out of the thousands of coins I own- fifteen are in slabs. The only reason I thought this to be a superior choice is because it has been tested specifically for this purpose. I tried it, it worked, so I thought I would share- do with the info what you will. I will be trying it on other slabs as I can, just for my own satisfaction- if it does not work, you'll find out about that too !

Were the before and after pics taken in exactly the same environment?

Same lighting, same distance from coin, same flash, same camera, etc?

Was every parameter the same except for whether the product in question was used?
